Thanks for responding to my "Mea...Dear Laura,

Thanks for responding to my "Meat Glue" blog. I hope you viewed the videos on how they make it and keep it fresh. (disgusting, especially using plastic wrap in hot ovens). I no longer eat processed turkey breast from the deli nor other cold cuts. And when I purchase meats I look for a white line running across the middle.

According to my research, no other investigation is being instituted. We the people in our country must demand labeling. We must know what is genetically modified and what foods were processed with meat glue. My research said near glue foods taste the same, and the chemicals are digested normally. However, some people have a difficult time digesting it. If you notice people feeling nauseous after eating it or have an upset stomach, that can be a clue.

In the video it showed a line running across the meat which shows it was put together with meat glue. You would have to remove the sauces, and fried crumbs to look for it though.

Thanks
IrisIris Shapirohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00851953197898478478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9128958798701458678.post-38969686830238358782011-04-17T15:43:46.831-04:002011-04-17T15:43:46.831-04:00Hi Iris,
I am researching the topic of meat glue ...Hi Iris,

I am researching the topic of meat glue and came across your blog. I just wanted to get your take on the research which you performed on this topic. You mentioned that it was difficult, and for me it was exhausting and I feel rather defeated by the lack of reporting. It seems like there is suprisingly very little information available considering this is something so prevelent in our consumption. The main info I discovered was the obvious, besides the wiki and banning in the EU... I could not find anything about it being banned in other countries. And clearly the labeling is questionable. The best I could return on that was in what ways it would be shown on certain meats eg. "formed". Did you perhaps discover any other labeling requirements or even consumer reports of illnesses associated with bacteria introduced via this stuff? I appreciate anything you have to add or other leads for my own research.
Thanks in advance for your time and comments!
LauraLauranoreply@blogger.com
